This may include:
Discussion of pregnancy, birth history, and current symptoms
Assessment of pelvic floor muscle strength and coordination
Evaluation of abdominal muscle function and diastasis recti
Assessment of breathing patterns and pressure management
Assessment and training for second stage/ pushing with pelvic floor relaxation
Birth preparation: assessment, risk factors and Birth plan discussion (trauma informed and pro choice)
Guidance on safe movement and exercise progression
Based on the findings, your physiotherapist will create an individualised rehabilitation plan.
